If you haven’t heard by now, Bodog is celebrating 15 years of success this year and they have a lot of things in store to celebrate. The latest celebration is a 15 day poker celebration.

The series includes 15 days of qualifying tournaments and culminates with $15,000 Freeroll on October 15

It was 15 years ago that Bodog opened its doors to the world and to celebrate this landmark achievement with online poker players, Bodog is hosting its 15 Days of Poker Tournament Series, a series of 15 qualifying tournaments culminating with a final freeroll event on Oct. 15 where a group of lucky players will battle it out for a share of a $15,000 prize pool.

“For 15 years, Bodog has been a leader in the online gambling industry, giving players a superior gaming experience while awarding billions in prizes,” says Bodog Poker Pro David Williams. “And Bodog’s 15 Days of Poker tournament series gives online poker players a fun and profitable way to celebrate this colossal achievement with Bodog.”

Bodog’s 15 Days of Poker gets underway today on Monday, Sept. 21 with 15 days of qualifying tournaments running through Monday, Oct. 5. Each of the 15 qualifying tournaments will take place at 8:15 pm EST and feature buy-ins ranging from $5 to $15. A variety of Texas Holdem formats will be offered, including No Limit, Pot Limit, Fixed Limit, Turbo events, super-turbo events and re-buy events.

The prize pool in each qualifying tournament will be distributed the same way it would be in a regular Bodog tournament, but the top 30% of finishers from each event will earn Tournament Leaderboard Points, which determine who moves on to the 15 Days of Poker Semi Final and the $15,000 Final Tournament.

The Semi Final Tournament will be held on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 8:15 pm EST, with the field consisting of those placing in 16th to 115th place on the 15 Days of Poker leaderboard as well as players who have competed in at least 10 qualifying events. The top 15 finishers in the Semi Final earn an automatic entry into the $15,000 Final Tournament. The winner also gets a seat in the weekly Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed online poker tournament, and the remaining top 14 finishers each win a seat in a $100,000 qualifier.

Bodog’s 15 Days of Poker celebration culminates on Oct. 15 at 8:15 pm EST with the $15,000 Final Tournament. In addition to the top 15 finishers from the Semi Final, the freeroll event will be open to players placing 1 through 15 on the 15 Days of Poker leaderboard and those who competed in at least 15 qualifying tournaments. The $15,000 prize pool will be distributed in usual tournament fashion, and the top 15 finishers will also win T$162 to play in the Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed, held every Sunday at 4:00 pm EST.

New Bodog Network Promises to Offer Players A Better Playing Experience

Bodog Network Bodog Canada Online Poker Patrick Selin press release

The Bodog Network announced today the execution of a brand license agreement with BodogBrand.com, and the development of an entirely new, Bodog-branded poker network – Bodog Poker Network.  A Poker Network is a group of different poker websites that all play on the same network to increase player bases and player bonuses. The Cake Poker Network has done fairly well on this business model.

Bodog Network is led by President & CEO Patrik Selin, respected European industry veteran and former CEO of the Ongame poker network, which at the time became the world’s largest poker network. Bodog Network intends to change the game, and brings an entirely fresh approach to the network ecosystem, including a much-anticipated and unique solution to the rakebackchallenge, which will be presented at EiG Copenhagen this week.

“I intend to build one of the largest and most reputable poker networks in the world”, commented Patrik Selin. “We are building a model that is founded on security and integrity, and the Bodog Network partners will never need to disclose or put their customer databases at risk. The initial discussions I’ve had regarding potential candidate partners have been overwhelmingly positive.”

Bodog Network has also secured binding commitments from all three Bodog online gaming brand licensees – Bodog Europe, Bodog Canada, the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group which licenses Bodog US, and Haydock Entertainment which licenses Bodog Asia– to be the Bodog Network’s initial network licensees.

Selin added, “Obviously, it made sense for me to lock in the deals with the Bodog brand licensees first, as this provides an immediate liquidity base. However, as the network comes online in 2010, we will naturally be extending the network to non-”Bodog”-branded operators. Those discussions are already underway.”

Calvin Ayre, the original founder of the Bodog brand and stakeholder in the BodogBrand.com licensing enterprise remarked, “I am extremely excited about this new licensee of BodogBrand.com – Bodog Network is the first B2B enterprise to license the brand and the fit simply couldn’t be better. Patrik Selin’s very detailed business plan and proposal were very compelling, and after building Ongame into a network powerhouse under his leadership, his abilities and credibility are unquestionable.”

Bodog Network intends to secure an EU gaming license to be able to attract and fully service EU-facing poker operators.

For further information about Bodog Network, please contact Patrik Selin (patrik@bodognetwork.com). There you have it folks, big things continuing to happen for Bodog and the Bodog Network promises to keep the momentum going!

Top News – Moneybookers Ends Partnership With Bodog

moneybookers bodog online poker payment processing www.casinoguidecanada.ca

Where art thou Moneybookers? It may come as a shock to many of our readers that Moneybookers has just announced their decision to cease processing transactions for online gaming websites. The tentative date we were given is September 20th when Moneybookers will cease processing transactions for online gaming.

For those of you who are unaware of whom or what Moneybookers does, allow me to explain. Moneybookers is an online payment solution similar to PayPal, allowing people to purchase items online or fund and withdraw from their online poker player accounts.

What does this mean for the current state of the online gaming industry? To be honest, we don’t know yet. It seems as if though every time things begin to start moving smoothly for the online gaming industry, along comes news like this. Rumors are speculating that Moneybookers made the decision to cease processing transactions for online poker rooms because they have just inked a deal with Ebay where they plan to be the #1 payment solution ahead of PayPal. For those of you who do not remember, PayPal previously use to process transactions for Bodog as well as other online poker rooms many, many, years ago until EBay bought them out and forced them stop processing transactions for online poker websites.

We contacted Moneybookers a couple of days ago to get their official response and this is what they had to say.

Dear Tim,

Thank you for contacting us.

We would like to kindly inform you that if there are any changes in our Policy, all customers would be notified accordingly.

We hope you find the above information useful. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,

Moneybookers Team

Hi Moneybookers,

I was recently informed that you will stop processing transactions for online gaming sites as of September 20th, 2009. Is this true, can you shed some light on what the reason is?

Thanks,

Tim

Based on their response, you can see that they did not confirm or deny whether or not they are closing their doors to online poker websites. Based on my own research, I believe that if Moneybookers decides to cease processing  transactions for online poker rooms, it will not be because of legal reasons like NETeller did, it will be because of the new business ventures they are inking as we speak which may prevent them from processing online gaming transactions.

In any case, who really cares? Moneybookers always asked for ridiculous verification anyways, so good riddance! If you play with Bodog, I would suggest depositing with your credit card or pre-paid gift card (Walgreens), and then requesting your payouts via check by courier which only takes 3-4 business days and are free, unlike Moneybookers fees! Also, if you are from Canada you may use UseMyBank to deposit with Bodog.

The man with the boring poker screen name wins Bodog’s weekly Sunday $100K Guaranteed Online Poker Tournament.

‘xBlah’, a relatively new comer to the world of online poker showed everyone just what kind of nuts he had this past Sunday in Bodog’s weekly $100K Guaranteed online poker tournament.

‘xBlah’ hit the felt with 432 crazed online poker players, all of which were eager to bite their share of Bodog’s generous overlay.

‘xBlah’ walked away with a cool $25,000 and when asked what he was going to do with the money, he replied, “Pay off my student loans, and maybe go on a date or two with a lady of the night”. Since we don’t like to judge here, I would like to send along my best wishes to ‘xBlah’, and please remember to use a condom; those student loan officers can be deadly!

Below is a lit of the top 9 finishers. Congrats to all that played, and kudos to all that placed!

1. xBlah – $25,000
2. squirrelz – $15,000
3. ddimes – $9,500
4. Copenhagen20 – $7,000

Hello again my fellow poker junkies. Contrary to popular belief, there are some days that I am not up to my eyeballs in term papers, diapers and heads up sit-n-go’s at Bodog. These are the days I venture into the world that is Xbox 360 casino games. Below you will find my favorite Xbox 360 poker game that is almost as good as the real thing!

World Championship Poker for Xbox 360

World Championship Poker for Xbox 360 is a great simulation game with even greater graphics. There are many different levels of play so if you are a donkey or if you are Phil Ivey, you will enjoy this game with a passion. World Championship Poker 2009 for Xbox 360 also has an online option which gives you a chance to play with players from all over the world, just as if you were playing in the Bodog Poker room!

If you are deciding between the new Xbox 360 or Sony Playstation 3, I strongly suggest you go with the Xbox 360. I recently borrowed my friends Playstation 3 and although it has a blu-ray player, the selection of poker games is not as great as the selection of poker games for Xbox 360.

Xbox 360 is a great way to go and the biggest plus of all is that it has World Championship Poker for Xbox 360 and you can find a lot of cheats and codes online.
