Online Poker Rakeback Offers

Over the past few months since Tim’sOnline Poker inception, many online poker players have e-mailed me asking about Rakeback.

What is poker rakeback?

How do I qualify for poker rakeback?

Does poker rakeback have anything to do with gardening?

Allow me to lay some of these questions to rest and shed some light on poker rakeback. Let us first begin with defining poker rake.

Poker Rake – this is the fee given to the online poker room where you are playing at. The poker rake is the online poker room’s cut for providing the game and a place for you to play at, their percentage. Online poker rooms generate revenue regardless of who wins the hands, so it is absurd when players accuse online poker rooms of fixing the cards when they get bad beats. It makes no difference to the online poker room who wins because they earn the same rake regardless of the outcome. The rake in poker tournaments is typically a percentage of the buyin amount. For example, a $1 buyin game will have a fee of $0.10 so it will cost you $1.10 to participate in the tournament. The rake held by the online poker room is generally 10% for tournaments which is significantly less than land based poker rooms, especially in tournaments where the online poker room is adding money into the prize pool. Online poker rooms typically do not make much money off of individual tournaments they hold, online poker rooms earn their money when they hold a lot of single tournaments making a little bit off of each one, like the Wal-Mart business model.

If you are only playing one tournament every few days, then you might not care much about how much you are contributing in rake to the online poker room, however if you are a grinder and you find yourself playing quite often, you could be contributing as much as $100/week to these only poker rooms because you pay rake regardless of whether you are winning or on tilt and this is where Rakeback offers come in to the picture.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to get some of your rake back at the end of the month? Needless to say I think you now know what rakeback refers to, getting your rake…wait for it…back!

Now you might be thinking, “rakeback is great, I’ve been a fool, I could have gotten back so much money over the years!” Just keep thinking please, because there is a catch and getting rakeback is not as easy as it sounds. Also if you are from Belgium, The #1 poker site in Belgium. On Poker.be find answers to all your questions about poker. On the other hand if you fancy some online blackjack, take a look at one of the best casino review sites for Canadian online casinos and get exclusive bonuses and player feedback forms.

The rakeback catch – Not all online poker rooms condone rakeback as it loses them money, so they will not give the player rakeback directly. The catch is that you need to sign up with the poker room of your choice through a middle man that gets a kickback from the online poker room and then the middle man gives you a percentage of the rakeback in your preferred currency.

Here is an example of how it works, little Ricky e-mails casinotimmy@gmail.com with the following:

Hi Tim,

My name is Ricky and I’ve been thinking about signing up an account with XYZ Poker, are you able to get me rakeback and if so, how much?

Then we would provide Ricky with a signup code for that particular online poker room with the percentage amount we are able to get back. Different online poker rooms will have different rakeback percentages. Then, at the first of every month we would send you your rakeback money via PayPal. Whether you choose to redeposit it or just use it to pay bills is up to you.

Sounds pretty good, no? If you have any questions about online poker rakeback, please do not hesitate in contacting us at casinotimmy@gmail.com

As previously mentioned, the 4th installment of the Bodog Poker Open is underway and the initial three days have not disappointed players. Bodog has already thrown in an additional $25,000 in the mix on top of other great prizes.

Bodog has told us that both the Contender Series and Championship Series games have had big turnouts and plenty of praise received from new and existing players trying to win seats to the Bodog Poker Open IV Championship Event this Sunday, November 8th, 2009.

If you still haven’t heard, the winner of the Championship Event is set to receive a lot of money, exclusive prizes and the best award of all, fame!

What does Tim mean by fame you may be asking yourself? Well let’s just say the winner of the Bodog Poker Open IV will get more press attention amongst the Poker world than Jon and Kate do amongst grocery stores. Yes, Bodog is guaranteeing massive media exposure amongst top Poker magazines and the most popular poker websites on the net.

This is what Justin Bonomo; Bodog’s youngest poker pro had to say about the latest Bodog Poker Open,

“The opportunity to become a poker legend while pocketing a lot of loot along the way is why so many men, women and children are participating in the Bodog Poker Open, and there is still time for more players to join in, so you would be dumb not to partake!”

The Championship Series of the Bodog Poker Open IV continues tonight with Event No. 4. Check out Bodog Poker Open IV for more information on buy-ins and times.

The BPO games will continue for the next two nights; Thursday and then again on Friday, November 5th and 6th respectively. Again, the Championship Event is going to be this Sunday, November 8th at 1 pm PST.

Not all of us are able to win every tournament so fair enough; however Bodog is still allowing you to win your way to the Championship Event for cheap when they throw an entire day full of satellite tournament qualifiers the day before the main event, Saturday, November 7th.
