Top News – Moneybookers Ends Partnership With Bodog
Author: admin // Category: Bodog Canada RakebackWhere art thou Moneybookers? It may come as a shock to many of our readers that Moneybookers has just announced their decision to cease processing transactions for online gaming websites. The tentative date we were given is September 20th when Moneybookers will cease processing transactions for online gaming.
For those of you who are unaware of whom or what Moneybookers does, allow me to explain. Moneybookers is an online payment solution similar to PayPal, allowing people to purchase items online or fund and withdraw from their online poker player accounts.
What does this mean for the current state of the online gaming industry? To be honest, we don’t know yet. It seems as if though every time things begin to start moving smoothly for the online gaming industry, along comes news like this. Rumors are speculating that Moneybookers made the decision to cease processing transactions for online poker rooms because they have just inked a deal with Ebay where they plan to be the #1 payment solution ahead of PayPal. For those of you who do not remember, PayPal previously use to process transactions for Bodog as well as other online poker rooms many, many, years ago until EBay bought them out and forced them stop processing transactions for online poker websites.
We contacted Moneybookers a couple of days ago to get their official response and this is what they had to say.
Dear Tim,
Thank you for contacting us.
We would like to kindly inform you that if there are any changes in our Policy, all customers would be notified accordingly.
We hope you find the above information useful. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
Moneybookers Team

Hi Moneybookers,
I was recently informed that you will stop processing transactions for online gaming sites as of September 20th, 2009. Is this true, can you shed some light on what the reason is?
Thanks,
Tim
Based on their response, you can see that they did not confirm or deny whether or not they are closing their doors to online poker websites. Based on my own research, I believe that if Moneybookers decides to cease processing transactions for online poker rooms, it will not be because of legal reasons like NETeller did, it will be because of the new business ventures they are inking as we speak which may prevent them from processing online gaming transactions.
In any case, who really cares? Moneybookers always asked for ridiculous verification anyways, so good riddance! If you play with Bodog, I would suggest depositing with your credit card or pre-paid gift card (Walgreens), and then requesting your payouts via check by courier which only takes 3-4 business days and are free, unlike Moneybookers fees! Also, if you are from Canada you may use UseMyBank to deposit with Bodog.
